We are embarking on a series of training courses, firstly during winter, presenting primers to new beekeepers, followed in the Spring and Summer by more advanced courses which will utilise the facilities of the JW Apiary by providing access to the bees in the various hive structures and during the differing seasonal situations.
This course will provide a platform to future practical beekeeping.
Course Title: Introduction to Beekeeping
Where: Jerrabomberra Wetlands Training Centre – Lunch Room.
When: Saturday 19 August 2017 From: 9 am to 1230 pm
Presenter: John Grubb
Course description: The course is aimed at those Association members and the general public who have yet to undertake a Beekeeping course. The course can take up to 16 students. The course will discuss Bee biology, Setting up your first hive, Hive Types, Pests and Diseases, Seasonal activities. Some practical elements of beekeeping will be demonstrated in the classroom.
Course Cost: For BAACTI members the cost of the course will be $25 and $50 for non members.
