2017 ACT Beekeeping Field Day - 4th March 2017

The 2017 Beekeeping Field Day on Saturday 4th March will feature presentations from bee experts, practical demos with different hives, and stalls selling a range of beekeeping supplies.

Come down to the Jerrabomberra Wetlands (2 Dairy Road, Fyshwick) from 10am - 4pm to check it out!

The Field Day is FREE, and open to everyone! Each entry also receives a chance to win a fantastic door prize...

Presentations and hive demos with visiting bee experts

Doug Sommerville (NSW Dept of Primary Industries) will present the 'Essential Principles of Beekeeping', 'How to Choose a Hive' and 'Selecting Plants for a Bee Friendly Garden'.
Come learn from a beekeeper with 40+years of experience!

FLOW Hive co-founder, Stuart Anderson, will be coming to answer your FLOW Hive questions as only he can. Stuart will share his story on the invention of this revolutionary hive, and show us his exclusive FLOW Hive tips!

Elizabeth Frost (NSW DPI/ Tocal Agricultural College) develops and delivers a nationally accredited beekeeping course and will be showing us 'Hive Inspection Essentials'. Elizabeth will also share her experience as part of the 'Bee Informed Partnership' (USA), a innovative academic and industry partnership that improves beekeeping in America.

We welcome Adrian Iodice, a pioneer in the Natural Beekeeping movement in Australia - that is committed to organic and sustainable honey bee care. Adrian runs Beekeeping Naturally and will present on the 'Principles of Natural Beekeeping' on our Kenyan Top Bar Hive.

RAFFLE - 2017 ACT Beekeeping Field Day - 4th March 2017

Entry to the Field Day is FREE and open to the public!

Each entry includes with a chance to WIN a fantastic door prize!

1st prize is generously donated by Better Bee Hives (http://betterbeehives.com.au/), and includes a Spring 2017 beekeeping course!
1st prize has a total value of $650, and includes a full vented beekeeping suit, and vented leather beekeeping gloves.

2nd prize is also donated by Better Bee Hives, and includes a B-Z-Smoker, a battery operated smoker.

3rd prize is donated by Canberra Bees (http://www.canberrabees.com/), and includes a stainless steel smoker and hive tool.

We will also have a few Bluebees Bottom Boards to give away (http://www.bluebees.com.au/), along with a few FLOW Veiled beekeeping hats (https://www.honeyflow.com/).
